Colloquium is over. Proceedings are available at link. Photos are available at link.

SYRCoDIS is an annual colloquium directed to young researchers specializing in the area of databases and information systems. The goal of the colloquium is to help young scientists to get acquainted with the work of their colleagues, to exchange the experiences and to practice in delivering reports at international conferences.

In recent years SYRCoDIS has become the major annual event of the Russian research community in the database field. SYRCoDIS is thought as a gathering forum to meet, discuss and exchange experiences among all those, both in the academy and industry, who are interested in database systems and in all their broad range of applications. Participants from all over the world are also welcome.

Previous SYRCoDIS colloquiums were held in Saint-Petersburg (May, 2004; June, 2005) and Moscow (June, 2006). Program committee selected reports covering such fields of DB&IS research as XML databases, information retrieval and data mining, query processing, etc. The Web sites of the previous SYRCoDIS conferences can be found at the main SYRCoDIS Web site.

Originally the colloquium was organized by professors Boris Novikov (University of Saint-Petersburg), Sergei Kuznetsov (Institute for System Programming of Russian Academy of Sciences) and Leonid Sokolinky (South Ural State University), and was encouraged by scientists from other Russian and European universities.
